Va FAST..Thanks Year One/Eaton
Thanks Year One & Eaton! Here`s a small FAST break down.
The Mopars were out in force this weekend and it ended in a all Hemi final.
*Ralph proved his 11.20ish pass was no fluke and pulled off a string of 11.20`s in his 70 440 6pak RR. Now he focusing on his new Hemi FAST project!
*Scotty`s very mild A12 car broke into the 11.85 range.
*Steve Hodges (70 Hemi Challenger)gets the most improved trophy this year with his second visit to the final round and a string of 11.teen passes. Congrats again on the runner-up.
*Ed Cook made it to the semi-finals with his wicked A12 RR with a ton of 11.30 passes! Also Ed hosted a killer dinner for the FAST & F/S guy`s. THanks!
*Mike`s 71 GTX ran a few 11.60ish passes. A super cool site to say the least..
*The RR made several good passes and took the race win. Thanks to Dennis for lining me up and thanks to Dad, Pete, Joel, Tom, Jeff, & Iggy for helping get to RR to where it is today...
Here`s a few of the numbers:
10.77@131
10.88@132
10.92@130
10.88@131
10.78@132
10.74@132 (1.81 60ft)
10.77@131
*Tom Cannon`s 6pak Bee was starting to make some nice ground and blew a head gasket side lining him. Tom and Dan get a A for effort just getting the Bee to the event with a couple of all nighters just getting her there.
*Gene`s 11.70 AAR was also side lined with a head gasket.
*Lane was trying to get back the 11.02 he ran earlier in the year but fell a tad short.
*Greg made it into the semi`s and pulled a killer hole shot on my RR with a 1.69 60ft and finished with a 11.19.
*Ken had a fresh engine and ran somewhere in the 11.30 range? With lots more on the table for next year.
*Don hit 11.40`s or 50`s? and ran well all weekend.
*Terry had nothing but bad luck and was out of the running early Friday but hung around to make sure everything ran smooth..Thanks!
*The F/S`ers ran great with Jimmy running an 11.51 and Copo ripping off 11.60something? Bruno ran a super strong 12.20ish also.
I know i`m forgetting a few guy`s but i`m very tired from the drive..

Congrat's to Dave! He has his RR running strong and consistant. He has worked very had on his combination and never gave up. A well deserved Victory!!
Congrats to mike Cannon for running an 11.90 @ 118 mph with his 4 speed Mustang. I think it was his first 11 second pass. Great Job!
Good running by Steve Hodges! Steve has vastly improved his consistancy with his car!
Ed cook is running Real well, 11.30's, scoring an upset win in the Quick-8 over number 3 qualifier Ralph Barbagello. Very impressive Ed!

Yes, Thanks Year One and Eaton
Ended up with enough gift certificates to almost get some new back tires. I think I'll be needing them! And also to Eaton for winning the posi unit for the best reaction time!.003 That right boyz, read em and weep! Your lucky I got a heart condition and it only works at 30% or I would have improved on that!
Thanks again guys. I'm hoping we can double the Factory stock side of it next year with at least 16 cars!
Peter

Re: Va FAST..Thanks Year One/Eaton
AWESOME, AWESOME TIME! THANKS TO YEAR ONE, EATON AND THE FAST ORGANIZERS!
I ended up racing the Sandman in his wifes' beautiful '69 RS/SS 396/375 Camaro. I took him in 2 w/ consistant 13.20's @ 104+ from the old Silver Slug. The only time I was under the hood was when I had to fix the center post of the scoop. I got some JB Weld from Hodges and that mixed with some fiberglass hair from my recent fix had me back together for the 2 out of 3 shootout.

Re: Va FAST..Thanks Year One/Eaton
A big round of thanks from me to;
1) YEARONE & EATON for the great sponsorship.
2) Dave, Pat Forsythe, Tom & Dan for helping me get that green machine dialed in over the last two seasons.
3) Big Ed Cook for that great food all weekend.
4) Terry, Greg, & Dave for keeping this "FAST" thing going every year.
All in all, it was a killer collection of racers, cars, and good times!
