Musclepalooza 2016

The result sheets that are posted show who won and lost but analyzing them shows the margins of victory. Round 1 had some very close runs.
Rhett True in his 1971 Buick GS defeated Gene Wilsey in his 1970 AAR Cuda by .017 . John Tambascio in his 1970 440-6 Cuda defeated Hal Oaks in his 1967 327 Belair by .094. Mike Leyes in his 1969 1/2 440-6 Road Runner defeated Jeremy Benson in his 1969 350 Lemans by .154. Tom Cannon in his 1971 Hemi Superbee defeated Rhett Moody in his 1968 340 Barracuda by .157. Phil Roitman in his 1973 Buick GS defeated Ty Taccone in his 1970 Z 28 Camaro by .227. Round 2 showed some good close racing but Round 3 when it is all on the line really got interesting.
Tom Cannon defeated Rhett by .018 to take the 2 out of 3 match. The other close one was Mike defeating Jeremy by .035 to win the 2 out of 3.
When you go across the line so close you are looking for the win light that is some fun racing. Sure you win some and lose some but it is all FUN.

Re: Musclepalooza 2016

I would like to thank all the racers that made the trip to the fall Musclepalooza. Mike Leyes made a solo 12 1/2 hr trip from Indiana. Many others made lesser trips but each well appreciated by all the people in attendance. I know myself that I spent a lot of time talking to old and many new fans of F.A.S.T. racing. Many thanks to Hemmings for having us and donating the trophies. Sadly nobody was able to snare the $1000.00 check from them but I think they will be forking that over in the spring.

Don Giannone 1966 396 Chevelle vs Scott McKenzie 1969 1/2 440-6 Road Runner . Dons best a very stout 60' 1.58 led 10.491@130.66.
Scotty had a smile on his face after getting the groove back on for a best of 11.85@115.43 with a 1.76 60'.
One thing I would like to mention about this match up since they qualified further apart than the rest , a side bet was made on reaction times. For the F.A.S.T. racers it will come as no surprise that Scotty is a little richer today.
Ty Taccone Yes he is! Had to raze Donny about it to!

Tom Cannon's 1971 Hemi SuperBee vs Rhett Moody's 1968 340 Barracuda . Tom had a best of 12.343@115.69 while Rhett's best was 12.472@110.53. These guys had some very close races.

Mike Leyes in his 1969 1/2 440-6 Road Runner vs Jeremy Benson in his 1969 350 Pontiac Lemans Conv. You really can't say that Mike had a best run rather you have to say he got stuck on 12.78 as he ran three of them@ 108. Jeremy's best was 12.718@106.62.

Ty Taccone in his 1970 1/2 Z28 Camaro vs Phil Roitman in his 1973 Stage 1 Buick GS. Ty's best was a 13.121@103.96. Phil's best was a 12.887@106.22. Phil couldn't make the call for the third round because of a starter issue so the book is not closed on this matchup.
I believe Ty's run was his best ever. Also any stories of pushing and shoving involving any members of Ty's family and me are purely not true and totally made up to lighten up what could have been more serious
Ty Taccone Pushing and shoving!! Funny 😊 had a great time. And yes the Z finally broke the 1.90 60 foot mark. And inching oh so closer to that 12 second club.

Bill Decicco in his 1968 383 Road Runner vs Tim Fredericks in his 1973 Dodge Dart Swinger . Bill's best was a 13.822@101.73. Tim's best was a 14.022@98.50. Bill had reaction times of .075, .065 and .050 so Tim really didn't have a chance to holeshot him. Congrats Bill
As a side note to this pair. I raced Bill in 1993 at the SuperCar Showdown East Event at Lebanon valley.
We both had our stickers from those events.

A HUGE thanks to Don and Mick Giannone for all they did this weekend. Exciting news in the works for F.A.S.T. racing. Stay tuned for updates on the international front.
