new guy with questions
I was wondering if there would be any reason why I couldn't run a 68 GTO convertible? I just got the 68 GTO and thought it would make a cool F.A.S.T. car but I don't think I have ever seen a convert. in the series.
I was thinking of doing it in a RAII configuration, it is a 4 speed car as well.

Re: new guy with questions
Car would work. We already have one Pontiac convert in the class.
You just have to follow NHRA safty rules for a roll bar. Not sure at what point bar is needed.
Good Luck

Re: new guy with questions
IIRC... 12.49 for a 5 pt bar, and 11.00 for a 10 pt. I know it is 11.49 and 10.00 for a hardtop/t-top car. I don't have a rule book handy, but I pretty am confident about those figures. My local track was a similar break for the helmet rule... 13.99 for hardtop/t-top, 14.99 for verts.
To the OP - go for it! A stroked 455 (500+ ci) mated to a 4 speed would be cool. If my budget would have allowed - my car would have been a F.A.S.T. car and not a Factory Stocker.

F/S car - almost done.
1969 Chevelle 2dr Hardtop - next on deck.

Re: new guy with questions
Hi Chris, I recognize your name from over on the PY site. Your GTO could certainly be cool FAST car. Just be warned that the cut off for running a 'vert with out a bar is 13.49. I don't have one in mine and I accept that I might get booted at any moment, but they seem to leave me and other Pure Stock and stock appearing convertibles alone... provided we're not running crazy fast.
