traction

I want to improve my 60 foot time, the goal is all the time a 1.6 s. Currently i drive the car between 1.8-1.6.
I'm running the caltrack system and QA1 with 9 x 28 inch Hoosier slicks. The car is a 66' satellite with a 493 wedge, A833 and a 8 3/4 3.91 in it. Best run was a 11.8 @ 118mls by a 1.8 60 foot. I start with 1500 - 1700 rpm's ( no launch control ). The car starts like a sleeping cat after an earthquake...
Should i go back to a pinion snubber or should i stay with the caltracks? When i use the caltracks, is there a recommendation for the pinion angle ?
I will run now a launch control for better rpm control during the start.
The next on the to do list is less friction in the front A arms.

Thanks for your efforts
Marco

Re: traction

Little bit of a different animal with the slicks. Are you spinning? You should be at least down in the .40's with 118mph.
Front end is where it is at. As long as the pinion isn't doing anything crazy, I would concentrate on the front end. How much front end travel do you have?

Re: traction

My front end is bone stock except of the QA1 shocks and a removed sway bar. The torsion bars are from the small block. The slicks are thin, but i don't want to modify my rear fenders.
I saw on the video that you guys have a lot more travel in the front end. The cars weight is 4039 pound with driver.

Just for fun, watch this video. Did you ever seen a stoppie on the dragstrip? The driver mades a missshift emoticon
