Mopar 340 cam specs
What is the Factory Stock rules, cam duration at .050, for a 1970-71 Mopar 340? If I have a cam ground, I want it to be legal. Thanks.

Re: Mopar 340 cam specs
Here is what a google search yielded for the factory camshaft specs...
"268/276 advertised, 210/220 @.050", 429/444 lift, 114 lsa"
And there rules can be found here:
http://www.purestockdrags.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=48&Itemid=53
These are the current rules speciffically concerning the camshaft:
Camshaft: The camshaft must be correct for the year, model, and horsepower claimed for the type of lifter (hydraulic or solid). Roller cams NOT allowed. Duration at .050" lobe lift must be within 1% of factory specs. Lift at the valve must be within 2% of factory specs. Engines must be able to produce at least 16.0 inches of vacuum at 1200 rpm. However, some factory-produced engines were not able to generate 16.0 inches in showroom condition, so those cars will be given a variance to the rule. Solid-lifter cams lift checked at zero lash.
Hope that helps.

Re: Mopar 340 cam specs
YW, I recently had Crane Cams grind a cam for me. We went with a blueprint cam core and made a few small changes. (within the rules)
They are a local business to me, and have always treated me right. I always try to spend my money with those kinds of businesses.
