340 stroker motor

Hi all, I'm a newbie. I wanted to ask you guys for your thoughts. I have a 340 stroked to 416 with X heads ported and polished with 208 intakes and ported and polished intake manifold. I am also going to use the factory thermoquad which has been buit to cam specs of 242/250@50. Some people are telling me that wont be enough carb due to the small primaries. HELP!

Even at idle? I'm not sure what you mean by that.

Re: 340 stroker motor

What I meant was with small primaries perhaps there might be a sputtering or rough idle? I'm hoping to get 470 plus horsepower at the crank. Is that unrealistic?

I have had a TQ on both my 340 & 360 strokers. No issues at all with the idle circuit.

Hey Buddy, consider that Chrysler used the same thermobogger on 440s too.24 inches larger than your stroker.

Don't worry you will be fine

Good point Tom. However, a 440 only has 375 hp.
