440 MOPAR Combos and Times

What are some of the times for the 440 4 barrel guys and gals and what is your combo (or at least as much of it as you care to reveal) and how is your car set up? Im more interested in non strokers, but if you have a stroker dont hesitate to tell me about it.

Ok Matt 25 veiws and no replies.I apologize.

440 4 bbls are kinda scarce in FAST.Most guys go for the 6pack.A few pack cars have run in the 11.20s.

There is a 69 Coronet R/T conv that has gone high12s.I can not comment on his engine build though as I don't know what it is.

I have a 71 4406 4sp Super Bee it is 493 ci.Its best is 11.54 @ 122.99

Scotty here has a 440 ci A12 that has gone 11.70s

Maybe Scotty or Mike Bonsanti will chime in here.

Anyway welcome aboard and keep the questions comin'

Re: 440 MOPAR Combos and Times

Haha I saw one racer profile for a 440 4 barrel Coronet R/T that rana 14.01 but he wasnt too far from stock with 3.23s and 2400 stall, im hoping to run more like 3.55s or 3.73s and close to 3000 stall. I know there arent many 4 barrel cars but my '67 didnt have a 6 pak option so im stuck with 4.

Im just trying to get a feel for the other times. Im trying to get my GTX on the road and right now the engine has the stock heads, manifolds, intake, and carb and since I cant even really afford to change it up I figure what the heck, when Im done why not run it in FAST a little bit just for fun. Ive seen Scotts car before when it was iin the 12s. If he chimes in maybe he'll remember me I remember the car and lisense plate when he had it at Marcus in Danbury.

Hey Matt, here's a little more info. My back-up car is a true 440 c.u. engine out of a satan wagon, uh station wagon. 8:0 compression, weak valve springs (4500-5000rpm max), but with a sixpack and shaker induction. In a 3800 lb. Cuda it ran 13.20-13.50 @ 105mph. 4spd car to boot.

Your car with valve springs, compression, and a single carter AVS should do at least as well, probably better. Hope to see you out this year.

Hey Matt,
The 67 gtx was a little heavy than 68,69..I think with a stock bottom end stock heads with a litte valve job and
a nice cam (BOB K.) your car could touch the 12's.. emoticon
I would call Bob get his opinion.. If you need his number
let me know.. Good luck..
