Re: Top 16 fastest F.A.S.T. cars?
The F.A.S.T. Board is not your nanny.:D Your safety is up to YOU and ONLY YOU. You put your neck on the line everytime you race. Protect it to the level that you are comfortable with. The track decides on the minimum standards that they require. It is your job, not anyone elses, to make sure that you comply.
If you see a car without a roll bar run 11.30 and another car run 11.30 with a bar, do you want the car with a bar to be the winner? How do you know that the bar is safe and legal? What if he has rubber valve stems and a non SFI dmaper but a good roll bar, and the other car has steel valve stems, an SFI damper and no roll bar?
THe bottom line is that design and enforcement of safety rules is a complex subject and the FAST board had aknowledged that they do not posses sufficient expertise in this area. Therefore they defer all saftey issues to the drivers and the tracks. If the car passes teck for compliance FAST rules, and the track lets them run, its performance counts.

Re: Top 16 fastest F.A.S.T. cars?
I think a lot of what slips by are due to Tech guys who pass these cars thru thinking they are just slow stockers going to play at the track, which is what the whole class is designed to look like until the green comes on.
Heck, the tech guy at LVD never popped my hood or even looked at my helmet, never checked my overflow or battery hold down, I was dissappointed with their inspection.

No tech guy has EVER taken a knee to see if I have a driveshaft loop...or ask.
--- If your not breaking or running slower your not trying.
